Collection: All Things Tea

The five basic styles of tea are White, Green, Oolong, Black and Pu Erh.

Brewing Tea......Using too much tea will make your tea bitter.. Too little tea will make a weak cup. The volume that is considered the "golden ratio" of leaves to water is one teaspoon of most tea leaves per 8 ounce cup of water. Here's where it gets a little complicated. A large, open leaf tea like a White tea or some Oolongs may require two or more teaspoons. adjust based on your taste preferences.

The proper equipment is also very important in the steeping process. When hot water is added, tea leaves can unfurl up to 5 times their dry size.

To make the perfect cup of tea, there is one prerequisite: GOOD TEA It will make a noticeable difference.

LOOSE LEAF TEA VERSUS TEABAGS

Tea that you buy at most grocery stores are packaged in teabags, which makes it very easy and mess free, no little leaves swimming in your teacup.

But drinking those teas comes with a price. You’re spending your money(and tea isn’t cheap) for inferior and mediocre tea. Most of the prepackaged teabags are filled with simply the “dust” found at the bottom of tea barrels. It adds color to your cup but not much flavor.

I invite you to try loose leaf tea and see how much beauty there is in drinking a cup of “real” tea!
